Gun Used in Wisconsin massacre

This is a picture of the SKS 7.62 mm semiautomatic rifle used by a hunter to kill 6 people in Wisconsin. I support the right to bear arms, but why should people own this thing? Posted by Hello

This weapon used to be banned under the assault Weapons Ban passed by President Clinton, but it expired under President Bush. So good news, you can buy one if you like... CLICK HERE!!!!

You can buy an SKS rifle for about $100, then you add a new stock, a bipid, a scope, and a new magazine (not legal in California), then you've got an assault rifle that you can kill someone with from 500 yards - and you could have between 30 and 100 shots to try.

It's sad. I'm 17 years old, and I'm thinking of buying an SKS - but it might be considered an "assault weapon" because of all the things you can buy for the thing to make it more deadly.

An SKS is just an older version of an AK-47 that only lets you shoot one bullet at a time. It uses the same ammunition, too (7.62x39, less expensive than most pistol ammo).

The only thing that type of gun is good for is shooting the heck out of stuff. Old laptops, for instance, are fun to shoot at (don't ask).

As if all of that wasn't enough, the most common AR-15 and the copies of it have huge capacity makes for sale now, too. A 90 shot magazine for one of those is only $100, and everyone who buys one to use in their AR-15 has a better gun that most SWAT teams will ever have. Kinda sad.

I'm not enthusiastic about guns of any type, but in the hands of kids, automobiles are the biggest "assault" weapons. If we just had the guts to raise the drivers' age to 18, thousands of lives would be saved each year. I was a Democrat long enough to know that if we banned assault weapons, the movement wouldn't stop, it would just move on (dot org) to the next level.
