1 Year and Counting

March 31, 2004 was the premier of Air America Radio. Every single conservative mocked the notion of liberal talk radio, and guaranteed the networks failure. In a very uncommon event, the conservatives were wrong and Air America has enjoyed the greatest debut of a new radio station in the history of radio. The rightwingers like to cling to the early financial struggles of the network, but the network survived and is thriving. The turbulent and tremendously successful first year is featured on an HBO documentary this week.

Personally, I listen to the Phoenix affiliate about an hour a day, usually in the car. There is this local guy in the morning, who is okay at best. Then there is Al Franken, who is pretty good, especially since he gets the best guests. Then there is Ed Schultz, who is actually not an official Air America guy, but he is on most of the affiliates in the country. Schultz does his show from Fargo, and is really appealing to average folks. After Schultz is Randi Rhodes, who has the best show in my opinion. Also, starting Friday, Jerry Springer's show will a part of Air America. Obviously, Springer is great.

remember when the chief source was a good read? It just seems that this website has gone from discussing the relevant issues, to expressing personal views to the extreme.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry that you feel this website is on the skids. We'll be posting our traffic numbers for the month of March tomorrow that show that most of our new and old readers would disagree.

Remember when posting anonymous was cool. Remeber when you weren't a dick.
By the way, the 1 year anniversary of Air America is very relevant.

Kudos to Heywood. That's why we pay you the big bucks.

I agree that Air America making it is relevant and I hope they come to a market in Akron or Cleveland soon.
