Syria, Paris, and my inability to think of a title
There were a bunch of conservatives making wild claims about lack of Iraq's WMDs. The biggest right-wing claim was that the WMDs existed, but were smuggled into Syria. Well, that myth has been finally been rejected. In a new report, US inspectors found the Syria theory was wrong. No WMD in Iraq or any hidden in Iraq. Just more confirmation that Iraq posed absolutely no serious threat to the US.
Here is a new label for Bush's tax cuts for the rich.....Paris Hilton's Tax Cuts. That should make everyone cringe. Seriously, why does she need a tax cut?
Ralph Nader is pushing LeBron James to push for child marketing curbs in his deals with Coke, McDonalds, and Nike. The inactivity on this topic by Michael Jordan is a tragedy. Hopefully, LeBron doesn't make the same mistake.
Bush has spent over $2 million on promoting his "plan" on Social Security. 1) The spending is barely legal, if not illegal 2) "Plan" is in quotes because he has actually not introduced a plan. 3) What a waste of money....his non-plan has no chance of succeeding.
James Dobson is founder of the Family Research Council, who held the stupid "Jesus hates the filibuster" event. He is nuts. Regarding abortion, he has said the Supreme Court is responsible for "the biggest holocaust in world history." Regarding Catholics, he isn't sure if anti-catholic bigotry is wrong. Also, he has compared the Supreme Court (the one that appointed Bush) to the KKK. Like I said, he's nuts.

By the way, social security reform would be great. I wish I had the OPTION (because it would be an option) to invest my money privately. Again, it is optional and the scared republicans and uninformed democrats COULD elect not to and take the small amount dispursed upon their retirement. Social Security was a great FDR idea, but it was never meant to be the sole support of so many people for so long. Additionally, the African Americans of our country are getting screwed by the current system with the life expectancy as it is today.
YOu are dead right: it is not meant as the sole support. It is not a person's sole retirement fund, it is meant as a security blanket, like an insurance policy.....that is why the "safety net" function of the program is defeated by private accounts.
And this thing about Black people.....this is sick. There are reasons black people aren't living as long as white people....and its not because they are black....its because our current system is failing urban american. Health care and disgusting urban budgets like Bush's are the problem.
I beg anyone that is not completely convinced this race issue in SS is not bogus, to read this link for a complete explanation of why this anonymous person (and any misleading republican) is dramatically wrong about playing the race card in SS. Its called "Little Black Lies".
