Great American Tom Daschle lost his South Dakota senate seat to Republican John Thune. Thune won based on a series of lies and failed promises. Thune's biggest promise was that he would use his Republican ties to the Bush people to keep Ellsworth millitary base open. Ellsworth is the biggest employer in South Dakota. Ellsworth is closing. So much for that. Personally, I am glad its closing, because those losers in South Dakota deserve to suffer for their decisions.

Another BS thing, is how all Thune (and all republicans) bashed Dashle for not spending enough time in South Dakota. Ends up Thune is doing the same thing. Thune has been fundraising (i.e., paying back his donors) for Republicans all over the country. Also, he may be contemplating running for President in 2008. Combined, Thune is spending no time in his home state. I don't blame him for staying out of town....he does live in South Dakota. But it's just unbelievable that this guy yelled about Daschle not being part of South Dakota, and he immediately does the same thing.

Summary: No military base and Thune avoids spending time in the state. Good. They get what they deserve for trusting a Republican.
