These are total Whackos by any standard
I just pray (ha!) that we can keep this a RELIGION issue and not a REPUBLICAN issue. There are people that are partial to these kinds of beliefs on the Democratic side of the court, too, although they are more of a minority there.
That said, I think anyone that believe this, regardless of political affiliation, is clinically insane.
Just watched the program...
First off, let me be fair and say that both the conservative host and the fake-liberal host discounted this 'Wrath of God' idea as absurd. Although it was about as unnecessary and pointless a debate as the "Should we bring back slavery?" debate.
In the end, both hosts ridiculed the viewpoint. However, their main reasoning was that blaming the hurricane on the sins of Americans was exactly the same thing al-Qaeda said!!! And, as we all know, sharing any viewpoint with Osama (even favorite color) is just plain treasonous!
Oh by the way, the clinically insane guest who said that Katrina was obviously a God-spanking... Senator Hank Erwin from Alabama...a SENATOR!
The most amazing part of the hour though, was in another, unrelated segment. They actually found a black guy to DEFEND Bill Bennett (the guy who said that aborting all black babies would lower crime rates). His name is Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and here was what he had to say about everyone pickin’ on Old Bill (reading off a teleprompter):
"This is an attempt by the liberals to prevent white, conservative republicans from speaking the truth about black America...Not all, but most [black people] lack moral character. Look at what they did to the Dome! In 3 days they turned the Dome into a Ghetto!"
[I am not paraphrasing, this is WORD for WORD...God bless TIVO!]
Did I mention this Rev. is black?!? I was wondering the whole interview...how much does a Reverend cost these days?

As much as I would love to--I have to stick to my Boycott Fox oath. But I will come here to read all about it! Bill O'Riley and Greta VanSustren should have a love child! Oh wait..Greta's a closet lesbian!
