Senator Kerry, apologize, shut it, and please let the Democrats win. We don't have time for some nuanced explanation. Democrats are doing great across the country without you on the evening news.
Kyle – my immediate reaction when I heard/read about John Kerry today was that he was helping to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Really, I think he is just trying to cost people elections at this point because he is salty over 2004. There is no way he can honestly be this bad at politics that he doesn’t realize what he is doing to his party.
His aide said it was actually a mistake in his speech, but what he was supposed to say was worse. The only reason he can be doing this is for his own political gain, and it may hurt us. I know you have been hard on Kerry Kyle, but this time your 100% right, he needs to shut up and watch us win.
Kyle.. I thought of you as soon as I heard the sound bite and could see you in your office with your hands over your face. This latest effort by Kerry is another in his continuing saga of political mistakes. The Ds are on a role and no one wants to hear or see you have a meltdown and ramble about a "botched joke".
I think his comments were fine. ("You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.")
The GOP attacked him.
His response to those loser Republicans was even better: "If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy."
THEN, even better: "I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did."
I just wish Kerry would have been so "swift" in his response back in 2004.
Chuck, if he misspoke, then apologize for the confusion. If he meant to say it then resign from the Senate. Kerry is running to the microphones to say, "I will apologize to no one for my mistakes. Maybe I did say the wrong thing, but it turned out it was the right thing" or whatever.
Stop. Hide. Just 7 more days. We were doing so good and will get back on track if there are no more Kerry soundbites.
Also, SENATOR KERRY - PLEASE DO NOT COME TO OHIO IN THE NEXT WEEK. GO CAMPAIGN IN HAWAII OR PUERTO RICO WHERE YOU CAN GO KITE BOARDING OR SOMETHING.
I do accept he does not help a campaign. But all this bashing of him by Democrats make him an even greater liability. We supported the guy to be president - we shouldn't be so embarrassed about him. sure he screwed up, but he was our guy.
I'll admit that will always be disappointed by John Kerry because of 2004. Maybe it clouds my judgment today.
As for APS, I can't remember where I read it, but the levy is basically 50/50 and turnout is key. I think it has a much better shot of passing today than it did in the spring in the primary. I say it passes, but by a razor thin margin.
I just heard Imus tell kerry to Stop talking.lol..and Kerry admits he screwed up the joke... but the damage is already done...I still don't think it will affect anything though.
It seems like the story has pretty much died despite the best efforts of Rush and Drudge. Republicans need to remember thar Kerry isn't on the ballot this year. Wasting time attacking him instead of attacking the Democrats actually on the ballot could hurt them.
Maybe Mitt Romney takes on Kerry for the Senate in MA in 2008?
is anyone surprised that a guy who was in skull and bones is hurting the democrats again? there is an entity called the Power Elite, and it is monetary, not party-related.
the only thing kerry should do now is revisit the terry shivo case with all the republicans. why am i seeing stories about this on the news. she was a vegetable, who cares. she didn't. she couldn't even think
Romney is running for President in 2008 and would not beat Kerry in Mass in a Senate battle. Kerry beat back his biggest and probably best challenger ever, Bill Weld, in 1996. Romney wants the WH and as of now he has my support. I have a feeling Kerry will not run for reelection in 2008. He will resign from the Senate in his doomed 08 bid and allow the next Dem Gov. of Mass. to appoint his Dem. successor.
Kyle, I think the effects remain to be seen. They will not be nearly as high as some on my side hope. They just wont. But it could mean a few more Repubicans turning out in a couple of House races somewhere which could make a difference. We will have to wait and see. But I totally agree - it does not chance the dynamic of this election one bit.
John Kerry would have been a damned good president and I still like him. The fact that his misfired joke is causing the GOP to shriek and the Dems to squirm speaks more to the mental retardation of America in general than it does to John Kerry.

typical kerry. elitist, self-aggrandizing drama queen.
i can't believe he can be this stupid this close to an election. what a moron. and i thaught bush talked out of his ass

Remember, REPUBLICAN (and current adviser to President Bush) said:
"Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in
foreign policy."
That is how Republicans treat those troops.
That is why they did not get the body armor they needed.
THESE REPUBLICANS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THOSE KIDS IN IRAQ!!!!!!
Don't ever fool yourself.

I only wish Kerry had said this: "I may have fucked up a joke, but at least I did not fuck up Iraq. You, Mr President, have that distinct honor."
Hey KYle any info on the APS levy-feelings, polls, predictions?

Maybe now people will remove those old and outdated "Kerry for President" bumper stickers. Even worse, he wont apologize!!! What an idiot!!!
We're blessed he's not president. A mistake like this in an international forum could have far worse - even grave - consequences.
Dear John Kerry,
Even low life's like Spiro Agnew are correct once and awhile.
Effet snob certainly does fit

I also agree the Akron levy will pass this time - school levy, not Troy Levey

Democrats...What a useless collection of Un-American Jackasses!
AS bad as the Republican's suck, you clowns swallow....led by your hero and all around NAMBLA Governor Ted "The Head" Strickland!
