A Total Embarrassment
Notre Dame embarrassed themselves, again, with a 41-14 defeat against LSU. Moreover, the BCS embarrassed itself, again, for allowing a team as bad as Notre Dame to get preferential treatment in gaining a Sugar Bowl spot. Further, the national media embarrassed themselves in multiple ways - a) they had Notre Dame ranked higher then they belonged all year, b) they keep acting like Charlie Weis is a good coach.Can someone explain to me who Charlie Weis has beaten? In 2 years, Weis has managed to beat nobody - yet he continues to garner praise from every single clown in the media (except Dan Lebatard). Last year they beat a 5-loss Michigan team - wow. They have beat 6-loss Purdue twice - wow. I guess beating 4-loss Penn State this year was their best win - congratulations on beating an unranked team. They are 4-0 against the Armed Forces - hooray. Maybe they will win a bowl game next year, if they get to play the Marines or Coast Guard.
Well, that is that. Notre Dame sucks, and Charlie Weis is more overrated than any other coach in sports. I have been saying this all year, and the facts are proving me right. Now we have to deal with the insanity of Brady Quinn (vs. LSU: 15/35, 149 yards) being considered a better NFL prospect then Troy Smith, a totally insane claim.
Unrelated: Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas has announced that he will seek prison time in the neighborhood of 2.5 years against Mike Tyson. Ridiculous.

My position as a maricopa county employee and member of the state bar (and adversary of the county attorney/prosecutors) probably precludes me from acknowledging how/why this is ridiculous. I will encourage an outside person to explain.
Either way, my position will allow me to give the most accurate updates, I think. so if you are interested in tyson, stay tuned.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious, that Notre Dame is a pretender trying to be a top 25 team.
I watched a game a month ago and Brady Quinn threw a interception on a screen pass (horrible throw) and the announcers somehow found a way to praise him.
They got what they deserved a butt kicking. They also need to join a league.

Bottom line, he should not get prison for cocaine possession. He is a first time drug offender. Moreover his one prior is very old. No other criminal in Arizona would be treated this way. It is plain and simple. This is purely a way for Andrew Thomas to bolster his political ambitions. It is a big dog and pony show, where the State of Arizona is going to have to waste all sorts of resources. Thousands of dollars will be wasted on Tyson case, when a normal person would have this case resolved in 1 hour.

I think part of Notre Dame's hype is from their television deal with NBC. Their strength of schedule is a joke. Good point.

Anonymous, I am not sure if you are just being sarcastic, because the King did not hit what qualifies as a game winner. He hit freethrows to preserve victory - about 10 players do that every week in the NBA - wow.
Also, Notre Dame should not go into a conference, unless it is Conference USA or the MAC. If they joined the Big Ten, they would be a 4-5 loss team every year, at best.

I could wait on OSU. that is, wait for ticket prices to come down - $800 is the best price i have heard. just stupid.
I can't believe Troy Smith is probably going to slide down into the mid/late second round, let alone be that far behind both Quinn and LeMarcus Russel in predicted draft order.
I guess the prospect claim is all based on Smith being pretty short as far as NFL QBs go, about 5'10". Then again, the best QB in the NFL this year, Drew Brees, heard the same thing coming out of college and slid down in the draft for the same reasons and has turned out all right.
ND just sucks. Tough times for Zaharpolous.
Well... it looks like Weiss didn't solve his problem that was clearly exposed during the Fiesta Bowl last year.. LACK OF TEAM SPEED.

I seriously haven't rooted for Notre Dame since I went to Ohio State, and am glad they lost, they haven't deserved a BCS game once since the system was put in place.
ND has been over-placed in every bowl game for over a decade - hence 9 straight losses.
what's sad is that the media seems to go along with the hype, until after the bowl game, i suppose.
