What A Bastard
During his State of the Union address, President Bush NEVER mentioned rebuilding the Gulf Coast, or anything Katrina-related. This is the same SOB that in years past has mentioned things like sending a man to Mars, steroids in baseball, and Laura Bush taking on gang violence. But this year he could not spend a few seconds to even give fake care to the still-devastated area of New Orleans.Maybe he doesn't know that New Orleans is part of the Union. When discussing Katrina in the past, Bush has said he was going to help "people in that part of the world." THAT PART OF THE WORLD?!?!?!
It is part of America, you bastard!
Or he really doesn't know that New Orleans part of the United States. How else could the needs of the city go unmentioned when discussing the state of our Union?

I actually said complementary things about Bush after the speech. Since I watched the speech in parts, I guess I did not realize this unacceptable omission at first. Considering these realities, I am a joke....
- Housing is still in crisis. Violence is surging (unlike Iraq, though, Bush won't add more support).
- The people are not coming back, and homes are not being rebuilt.
- The levees are not ready for another Cat 4 or 5.
- The legal system is a disgrace (but still, the goofs running the courts are finding a way to fight over the placement of a bible in the Court).
- The insurance system is in crisis.
- Oh, and what about $2 billion in government fraud/waste?
THAT IS NOT WORTH MENTIONING?!?!?!?!
Seriously, what a bastard!
Well, according to George, we are not part of this nation. He calls us "those folks in that part of the world". ANd I send taxes to the USA for what????
George Orwell said that advertising is the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket. The same could be said of Bush's SOTU speeches. His speechwriters, knowing that the steak is rancid, concentrate on the selling us the sizzle and the sauce.
It's easier for Bush to roll up the windows, crank up the A/C and "My Sharona" as he drives by the giant road kills that are New Orleans and Baghdad, than to confront the awful truth that he and his minions are nothing more than pious, arrogant pumpkin smashers and carpetbaggers.
His "Flyover" photo op (over NO and Gulfport) three days after the hurricane and his fukkoff vacation was the best example of his non concern.
Oh , I forgot the "Mission Accomplished" flyin on the aircraft carrier....HEY this dumbass thinks he is Glinda the GOOD WITCH OF THE NORTH!
right on guys. i was way to accepting of bush the night of the speech. it was probably the fact that i know everything he wants to do can be blocked (except for iraq stuff, a big exception)
Chuck..I was the one that called you out about Bush not mentioning the Gulf Coast...good stuff on the post. His speech was full of BS.
Anonymous, you were right to do so and I'm glad so many have. I missed the boat on that one when I watched the President's speech.
It is really bad the President didn't mention the Gulf Coast.
Anon, I had already worked up the post, but was having internet problems. but i am glad for the extra nudge. it was the first thing i did when i got home from work.
and it is beyond unforgiveable.
but so was his conduct back in the summer of 2005.
Its just that we truly TRULY NEED a President that is coherent and gives a rats ass about us.
It hurts deeply to have such a dumbass in the whitehouse......
NEWS FLASH: someone reported Uncle Sam crying under a freeway underpass with his bottle of Ripple.
Apparently some Fox viewers are rediscovering their gag reflex:
"On Tuesday, Fox News Channel recorded its lowest ratings for a State of the Union since President Bush's first address in 2001, a ratings analysis shows.
FNC averaged 4,560,000 viewers this year, down from 6.4 million in 2006, 5.9 million in 2005, 5.1 million in 2004, 5.8 million in 2003, and 5 million in 2002. In 2001, FNC averaged 2.2 million."

What chord is that?
That's a g major in the first position.
maybe no one would be talking about katrina if those morons left there houses, below sea level no less, when they discovered several days in advance that a giant huricaine was coming there way. call me crazy!!!!
maybe he didn't mention it because it isn't part of the current agenda. it happened a while ago. you people are way to sensitive. it's not his fault new orleans is filled with retards. how is the chocolate city doing these days. just a bad as it was before the disaster. better yet why didn't he talk about the tsunami then? he didn't talk about it because it's in the past
that is a republican, ladies and gentlemen
well the aftermath certainly isn't evident of a city with a clue. Then Nagin is re-elected unbelievable. What about all of the stories of waste and abuse from those that recieved aid? What about the huge upswing of crime in Houston? Where does government aid start and personal responsibility start? Tell me Chuck, at what point do you cut the cord, or are there any constructive government measures that could be taken to rectify the situation currently. Other areas get destroyed and are rebuilt do to the effort of their citizens, New Orleans seems to be filled with a class of humans referred to as Homo Sovieticus-meaning that they are waiting for the governemnt to lift them up instead of doing it themselves.
oh and do you still believe that those Duke kids are guilty-boy were you wrong on that one
1) if you show me one quote EVER where I said the Duke kids did it, let me know. DON'T MAKE SHIT UP.
2) At what point do you cut the cord? I guess it is already cut.
Reelecting Nagin was bad, but there was no real alternatives given. The entire election process was a joke.
there was never a plan from the feds. and that is who should have made some big decisions. if it was federal money, then feds make the tough decisions.
and of course there are constructive steps. restoring some wetlands. how about CLEANING UP THE FUCKING GARBAGE? How about showing some fucking interest? How about some fucking oversite, so asshole contrators sitting in DC suburbs aren't getting rich off this thing?
I could go on, but i hate you and you don't deserve any sort of a thoughtful response. people that treat the new orleans situation like you do will definitely see your soul rotting in hell someday, enjoy.
ok it wa on the KPR in the comments section if I can pull it up I will
Your stance seems to be that all of the initiative should come from outside, yet where is the internal drive and leadership to set things right? I can't see it. Why are the residents of New Orleans waiting to clean up the garbage. There have been numerous catastrophies where the local residents stepped up and repaired their communities-this isn't happening in La.
Oh I will be rotting in hell? what do you do to better your world? Where do you volunteer your time and resources, I can guarantee I do a whole lot more to benefit my community than you, but I guess that is where my mentality of fixing it yourself instead of waiting for others to do it for you differs from yours of screaming and crying like a 2 year old waiting for momma to clean up their mess. Grow up and grow a pair before you say such wicked things
here you illustrate your keen legal mind, I especially love th part where guilt and innocence don't matter to you,

That woman, based on physical evidence, WAS brutally attacked. Maybe it was the lacrosse team. maybe not.
Okay, so say she accused the wrong people. Fine. its VERY possible that she really didn't process the entire event accurately, especially due to the horrible nature.
but you seem to think she should go to jail for that possible mistake.
or say she intentionally made it up. so what. she WAS brutally beaten by someone, as evidence shows. she had it bad enough. but i know conservatives aren't very compassionate to women, so maybe you don't care about what she went thru.
screw the rich racist white kids.

Please deny making this statement?
***********THE SOLUTION************
New Orleans has had to turn away over 300 students because of lack of teachers. The forcast for next is even more bleak. They are begging for teachers and through the Teach America program a college graduate(which I believe we have a few here) could teach for 2 years. Imagine actually putting your principles to work to help the world and News Orleans in particular. My kudos to Kyle and others that went there to help in the past.
Chuck runs and hides from his own words, nor can he defend his position Hahahahahha!!!
Bloated Barrister, if you're wondering where goverment aid stops and personal responsibility starts, why don't you write that question on a sandwich board in big red letters, march around the Green Zone with it, and then let us know that works out for you.
what are you talking about dipshit, of all your pointless interjections and off topic swill this tops it. Your silly little post isn't even relevant. At least make a point so I can respond. Oh and for your info, I haven't even mentioned my opinion on Iraq, also I have served in the military, I doubt you have so refrain from your stupid blanket indictments before you once again are revealed to be a pathetic little fool.
My, my......you and your keyboard are two tough hombres. Everybody step off !
Is there some reason you missed the irony of the government spending $200 million a day in Iraq working against the need for Iraqi self-reliance ? Regardless of what your position is in Iraq, if it doesn't work in New Orleans, why would it work in Baghdad?
Is that clear enough for you El Cojones?
you are trying to equate apples to watermelons. Probably because you can't do any better ok here you go
-Chuck rails against waste and a lack of intiative by the fedral governemnt in regards to rebuilding NOLA. I argue that the reason nothing is getting done, and their is so much corruption and mismanagement, is because there is no internal push to accomplish anything, no leadership, no ideas just a bunch of people unwilling to help themselves. In the areas that are being rebuilt-and there are-it is because those residents aren't waiting for a HANDOUT(I do supportt channeling money to them). I know that you lack the ability to discern two seperate scenarios but I assumed even you, with what little brainpower you have could comprehend that there are differences between Katrina and Iraq, oh well you can't, your loss.
The Irony you are referring to is that the government is spending 200 million/day on Iraq instead of New Orleans impeding the Irraqis from standing on their own- here is where your insipid thought process fails you. I agree we should get out of Iraq the sooner the better becausse they should thrive or perish on their own accord-on the same line of thinking a great deal of money and resources has been wasted in the reconstruction of NOLA because people aren't willing to stand up on their own-No I don't feel it is worthwhile to pour good money after bad-until I see internal intiative for reconstruction, why would I waste even more on that region. If I saw differently maybe then I would feel differently. Chuck and you can continue to champion dumping tax dollars on debit cards used for boob jobs and other egregious wastes of money, and that is fine, but don't assume people with sense will agree with you.
as for the vitrol in my statement-when you make such incedibly asinine statements as walking around a green zone with a sandwich board-don't be surprised when people respond in kind.
-el cajones
I will not respond to your nonsense talk regarding the gulf coast disaster.
however, i will say, you really "nailed me" with those quotes on the Duke kids! Way to go!
You Said: "oh and do you still believe that those Duke kids are guilty-boy were you wrong on that one"
I Said: "if you show me one quote EVER where I said the Duke kids did it, let me know. DON'T MAKE SHIT UP."
You respond with quotes of me where I say I don't know if they did it.
Wow, your a real sleuth! You really nailed me with my damning "maybe it was them, maybe not" quote. Gosh, I am so embarrassed.
Fred, I hope that wasn't a slap at me by complimenting people that "actually putting their principles to work." If it was fine, but I have been trying to do as much as I can from where i live.
and no, i don't think i have done enough, and am embarrassed to think of the money i could spend more useful, but at the end of the day, i am still proud of the small things i have done from way out in AZ.
"New Orleans seems to be filled with a class of humans referred to as Homo Sovieticus"
And I'm writing asinine comments ?
You call the remaining inhabitants of a devastated American city communists because they didn't have the means to leave and now don't have the billions to rebuild and we're supposed to kneel at the feet of your brilliance ? On one hand you crow about how much more you do for your community than Chuck does ( an assumption ) and then you berate people who want to help others in need. As Chuck said, "that is a Republican, ladies and gentlemen".
Chuck,
Thank vou for the thoughtful response on the "solution".
