I am not going to trash Mrs Bush, but yes that comment ABOUT ONE BOMBING A DAY discouraging everyone is just one more example of disinformation and throwing in a red herring - blaming the media.
Folks we are involved in a civil war. No matter how long we stay there, the shit will hit the fan and the chips of destiny will fall the second we leave.
The strongest strongman will emerge just after the ensuing bloodbath and thats the name of the tune.
Of course we could just occupy Iraq forever with say 700,000 troops and more agressively purge all that we dont like.....
I think thats what Bush/Cheney/Halliburton/Bechtel/KBR and some here really want.
& of course, this would bankrupt Poor Uncle Sam, and ALL our social programs - BUT WHAT THE HEY It would certainly & profoundly give a New meaning to

I think there are a lot of parts that are doing well, they just dont get press.
Would one bombing a day be upsetting in the US, even if there was stability elsewhere? I think so.
I found this video to be an interesting insight in to the perspective necessary to think we are winning.
