Also, the Senate passed a spending bill this morning that "orders Bush to begin withdrawing troops within 120 days of passage while setting a nonbinding goal of ending combat operations by March 31, 2008."

I want to add that I support the idea of a date for withdrawal. I think it is smart to keep our commitment from being open ended.
this poll may be vey straight foreward but most are questionable. I particiapated in a Zoggby poll last week and it was very leading in the order and the way the questions were asked.
I am not questioning the content of the post, I also believe that setting a date for withdrawal is the right choice....but N=831? Really? There has to be a more reliable poll that supports your claim? There has to be!

Anonymous 1, I agree that a sample size of 831 isn't very impressive. My understanding is that 1,200 is the number to hit. I'd bet that CBS pays a polling company to conduct a series of polls every month on a range of topics. If they can find one that is news worthy then they make the results public and CBS NEWS gets a name identification bump when their poll is repeated. I'd imagine it helps to add to the perception of gravitas of their news. A sample size of 831 is cheaper to conduct and only geeks like you and I notice the small sample size.
Anonymous 2, let me say that Bob, Chuck, and Terra are three of the sharpest people I know. The Tony Snow incident is a drop in a large bucket of quality, creative, smart, and funny writing Bob has contributed to this site. I'd take these three on my team any day of the week and I do with The Chief Source.
what about trimming down to three writers (Bob, You Chuck) and bringing in a weekly guets writer on a variety of topics, you can solicit pieces from pattakos, congeni Isig, Esig,Darwal any number of people who have interesting viewpoints-That MEncken Guy, Jillmiller zimon, import editorials from news sources, get frederick to post an op-ed piece. Plus issue challenges to various posters who comment alot with critiscm allow them to put the shoe on the other foot. Keep up the good work
