I'm really excited for Saturday. I think Georgetown had their best game last week and they are going to be shocked by the Buckeyes.
I really hope Florida loses. Playing them for a second time for a national championship would make me really nervous. When I was down in Mississippi, I met some Florida Gator girl who worked for Americorp. Based on that conversation, Florida fans suck.
I'm nervous. Every game at this point is tough, but I remember G-Town's scary length last season, and how it destroyed us. We're a lot better now than we were last year, but still... I would have rather faced UNC again in this round.
As for Florida... my cousin, bless her heart, is a Junior at UF. She is the stereotypical Kate Spade and Coach wearing southern belle (expensive sundresses and broad-brimmed hats are standard fare). And her father - my uncle - is about as conservative as they come (he's still part of the 28%, I think). I love 'em both, but they remind me of some of the things I dislike most about wealthy southerners. Which is ironic since they are originally from upstate New York. :)
Anyway, my pops lost a bet with my cousin re: that big football game in January, and has to wear Gator gear to a OSU football game this season. I think he's planning on going double-or-nothing if the opportunity presents itself again. Personally, I would love another shot at Florida. We're a lot better than we were back in December, IMO.
But, we've got to take care of business today first.
Amazing game last night. OSU's defense was the story of the game. We had the rattled the entire game. Hopefully Oden steps up Monday and has his best game of the tourney.
