This is too funny.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters is hiring bums off the street to picket in their place to protest against low wages.
The homeless are being payed 8 bucks an hour.
"What do we want?!"

Curious----is the Libertarian position anti- union?
Whats needed in any strike is a bunch of young ethnics - lots of beer, loose women, tire irons, a sprinkling of firearms,former boxers, shellshocked veterans and petey whose family remembers well John L. Lewis... and the potato famine, "NO IRISH NEED APPLY"..... add in some local news coverage and THAT gets the point across

Technically speaking: A Striker who refused to picket and chickened out by hiring it out is a SCAB or at least a scab/light
Unions are pathetic...while they once served a very valuable purpose in the United States they have lost touch with reality. Together with the idiotic suits looking for a quick fix to a now problem agrred to ridiculas labor contracts and have destroyed many companies.
I wouldnt say Pathetic. Pathetic is the attitude that blames one group(trade unions) for immense and complex problems.
The overall scene is "pathetic"
Dont forget that an overall motivation of Trade Unions was safety.
I once heard a Chief Financial Officer for a GE division state that we should Never put down unions...he further said that even though he was clearly on the company side that organized labor had advanced the nation for everbody.
