I Love Bill Clinton

This is clip is only two minutes and dead on. It is President Clinton talking about the Republicans' "outrage" over the MoveOn.org ad. This is how we need to handle the bait and switch distractions of the Republican Party. They can have Karl Rove as their political brain. I'll take Bill Clinton everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Clinton shows just how easy it is to dissemble the Republican mystique.

Just saw the video. Oorah Bill Clinton-- of course this bait/switch propaganda tactic is exactly what Mencken has been trying to tell us for a while.

Too bad that the prop machine is so effective - The public would be well off to listen to Pres. Clinton on this issue.

I especially took exception to the swiftboating of Sen Max Cleland in Ga. Gutter tactics worked and the Republican Party just reinforced their Prop machine for more character assassinations.

Republicans: Take Heed and end /curb this activity in your party

Thank you, Kyle. Bill's argument is basically, "Republicans can't criticize because they did the same thing."

My argument is, "It was all BS. Moveon, Swift Boat Vets, etc."

So keep on politiking, my brutha. Tow that party line.

And continue to worship the guy who was impeached by the House of Representatives for lying to Congress under oath.

As I've said before, anyone who knows Patraeus' record of service should have been offended by this ad. Apparently, even quite a few Democrats agree in the House and Senate.

That is all except the ones who want campaign donations from moveon.org. From CNS...

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who voted to authorize the Iraq war in 2001, was among the 25 liberal senators voting no. In other words, she refused to support Gen. Petraeus or condemn the personal attacks on him. So did Democratic presidential hopeful Chris Dodd of Connecticut.

Sens. Joseph Biden and Barack Obama -- who also are running for the Democratic presidential nomination -- did not vote on the amendment, which was sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn.

You know, I know, and Bill Clinton knows, the Hillary's refusal to condemn moveon.org was purely motivated by potential campaign donations. Dodd, Obama and Biden all want thos dollars, too.

Like Alanis Morissette said, "Isn't it ironic?"

Cmon Russ, you're smart enough to know that bullshit impeachment vote was ultimately as big an embarrassment for Congress as it was for Clinton.

Everyone who thinks that impeaching a President for sexual reasons strengthened the Nation should step back for a moment and think of the year long total waste of resources and stalemate in DC

Just think about that for a moment. Still think impeachment proceedings are productive? How about impeaching a President who lies us into a war?

Of course, that sort of offense is also extended to the American Conservative magazine, whose current cover "dares" to show a picture of Gen. P with the words "Sychophant Savior," no?

"David Petraeus is a political general. Yet in presenting his recent assessment of the Iraq War and in describing the “way forward,” Petraeus demonstrated that he is a political general of the worst kind—one who indulges in the politics of accommodation that is Washington’s bread and butter but has thereby deferred a far more urgent political imperative, namely, bringing our military policies into harmony with our political purposes."

Hmmm.... I don't know about you, but that particular bit sounds like the good General did in fact betray a whole lot of us, eh?
Ooops. Did I say betray us?
Silly me. Only Rush Limbaugh is allowed to use those two words when describing someone..... especially all of those "phony soldiers" who dare to speak out against the war.

Rock on Big Bill.
Rock on.

Petey, I'd gladly buy Russ a Bud. Good line.

Russ, I toe the party line because I stand proudly as a Democrat. I don't tow it like "hey, I got my line stuck in a ditch and need I it pulled out so I can get to work." I understand that you are saying that I blindly follow the Democrats and I am pretty loyal. I posted this video because this is the kind of line Democrats need to toe when Republicans use these kind of bait and switch tactics.

Tina..... good call.

As far as Hillary being elected.... I have to believe that Murdoch and Fox would love nothing more.
A Neocon sadomasochist wet dream if I ever heard one to focus the masses and keep them glued to their TVs. A Hillary victory would keep Limbaugh
harder than Chinese algebra.

For Democrats, it could be like eating psilocybin mushrooms ... after the retching and vomiting stops, the euphoria of watching neocons bite into cyanide capsules in their bunkers might be worth it, although I would urge the Repugs to "choose life".

Geezuz Mencken - you are giving me flashbacks...Kurt Vonnegut could not have narrated that scifi situation better. The Presidential Record would then read: Bush/ Clinton/ Bush/ Clinton.

I have been observing Bill & Hillary lately and this couple, in spite of past trials- "stained" dresses, very late in life puberty, misc hormone problems, appears to be experiencing marital bliss. Wild Bill seems right in his devilish element during his "payback" interviews on the rightwing

So I am saying that a Hill-Bill(y) presidency just as above described by wily Mencken is in the tea leaves.

Just wondering: If Bill is back in the Whitehouse- Does Hillery issue executive orders for his daily saltpetered cornflakes? All whitehouse staff Gay or Neutered?

Holy shit Batman! - I cant wait to hear the childish attacks on Fox from the rightwing

Tina, Menck - you have me convinced about Petraus...too bad Russ, albeit I appreciate your input

WELCOME TO THE SHOW THAT NEVER ENDS
While we argue about ads in newspapers and indefensible attacks on people such as Clelend the real issues are ignored. This week a report on the finacial staus of medicare and social security was issued. Does the press highlight the reports do the politicans address it? Hell no.
Why? Because if hard decisions that require sacrifice from the voters is necessary no party wants to take on the issue. It isnt about what is best for the country it is about doing whatever it takes to remain or expand their power. Not that she is any differnt than the rest but does Hillary address the need for attacking the growing entitltement problem? No, she proposes all babies recieve a $5,000 college gift from the gov. What a farce.
Back to my old refrain. They stomp out of the dressing room climb into the ring and battle to the death. We cheer for our favorite disparage-the bad guys and cant wait for the next match. They leave the ring go back to their room slap on another on the back count the money and rehearse the script for the next match which promises to be even more important than the last.

Maybe if you read the whole article, you'd be able to notice the difference between what moveon.org said and what American Conservative said, Tina. Moveon.org accuses Patraeus of, uh, betraying us and "cooking the books." AC accuses him of not being a truly "political general" in the same realm as George Washington, U.S. Grant and Eisenhower.

One questions his integrity, the other, his tactic.

So nice try, Tina. But read the whole thing here: Sycophant Savior.

Tina..... good call.

Menck!! Another one who didn't take 60 seconds, Google the quote, and read the article.

Petey, I'd gladly buy Russ a Bud. Good line.

I'd gladly accept.
