Party Time For Democrats
A Gallup Poll released yesterday shows the Democratic Party is looking good on two fundamental questions:"Looking ahead for the next few years, which political party do you think will do a better job of protecting the country from international terrorism and military threats: the Republican Party or the Democratic Party?"
Democrats 47% - Republicans 42%

Our party is well positioned because people want the kind of change they voted for in 2006 to actually happen. As Chuck highlighted in his last post, the Democrats have been ineffective at times in getting things passed and to the President's desk because they lack 60 votes. However, this poll shows that we have the party advantage, we just need to capitalize and build on it.
That is bad news for Republicans, no doubt. but this time in 2003 Howard Dean was going to sweep his way to the nomination, so I wouldnt get too caught up in polls right now. And this time in 1979 Jimmy Carter was crushing Ronald Reagan in polls.
Regardless, it is bad for Republicans.
Interesting...yesterday we have the House joining the Sentate in totally condemning moveon.org's ad in the NYT's...proof that Dems are further separating themselves from nutjob organizations that people here consider representative of mainstream America.
But don't worry, folks...they'll still accept moveon's campaign donations.
We have moveon.org paying the NYT's an additional $77k for the ad...it appears the NYT's violated their own policy on discounts and publishing ads containing personal attacks.
What liberal media?
In last night's debate we have Hillary, Obama and Edwards all failing to commit to troop withdrawel in Iraq by the end of the next presidential term in 2013. Looks like Kucinich is your boy in '08.
You've got presidential candidates who can't even say if they would use force if Iran developed a nuclear weapon...they'll just exhaust all diplomacy and then some. They couldn't even say, "Maybe. Last resort." Apparently more than one of your candidates has a vagina.
We have a budget year starting on Monday, October 1st, and the Senate, controlled by those "we PROMISE we'll get things done if elected" Democrats have not passed ONE of the 12 budget bills needed to keep the government operational. Except for a stopgap bill to get us into November.
Yeah...things are looking just freaking spiffy over on your side of the fence, Kyle. There's over a year to go until the election...opinions change like the wind off the lake these days.
I know I am going to vote DEM. because they will end the war.
How are things on your side of the fence Russ?
How are things on your side of the fence Russ?
Just freaking spiffy.
Maybe it's time to tear the fence down in America.
Ya Menck, I think ole Russ is ready to explode out of the closet - wearing a Tee shirt that says HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS.....and a button that says "I never thought I'd miss Tricky Dick"
Or: "If God wanted me to vote Republican I would have been born RICH"
Or a yard sign: " Support our troops - BRING THEM HOME"
I think hes ready for green tea at the MoveON.org meetup
Amen, Menck. And Petey...I'll never be ready for the moeon meetup tea. Maybe if they served beer...
Almost everything thats happening today in America (politically speaking) whizzes me off to extremes.
I actually had to quit drinking
I will have you fellows know - I am drug free----and I think thats the hard way out
God bless Democrats :-)
