Which Bill Do You See?

I thought these two headlines posted yesterday at HuffPo summarized the dilemma for many Democrats on the role of Bill Clinton in Hillary's campaign. If you look at the story on the left, the headline reads "Hillary Goes for The Kill." In this picture, Bill is is portrayed as the all knowing adviser. I was sitting at a table of Democrats last Friday night and someone made the point that the best thing Hillary has going for her heading into a Democratic Primary is Bill. It was an excellent point. He is still the most powerful surrogate amongst Democrats and in a primary he is HUGE.Compare that sentiment with the story on the right where the headline reads "Ford Saw Clinton As Sex Addict: New Bio" and has that absurd picture. That is what Republicans think of when they see Bill Clinton. So looking at these two stores in such close proximity of each other got me wondering about which Bill Clinton independent voters think of when the see Bill next to Hillary? I want to believe they think of the picture on the left, but Republicans can't wait to remind them of the picture on the right. I think this is a conversation we as Democrats need to have before the primaries.
Related: Mike Gravel will be shut out of tonight's debate. As he points out, in the latest CNN poll he is in a statistical dead heat with Biden, Kucinich, and Dodd, who will all be participating. I think he has a valid point.

For the record, these two pictures and headline appeared as is on the HuffPo. I added the poor quality arrows for emphasis.
Also, let me say proudly that I love Bill Clinton. He is a huge asset to our party and gives some of the best speeches I have ever heard in person.
Gravel does have a point I guess. If Kucinich can be included, no reason he cant be.
the Reps. are wasting their time to attack Bill and Hillary from the personal life angle. The American people have heard it over and over for years and years.
liberals- rationalize it away and point to the "vast right wing conspiracy"
moderates-may believe much of it and dont like it but want a changer in direction of country
conservatives-believe the Clintons are less principled and more devious than they are portrayed but feel the Rep party has deserted them and wont become energized by the constant "you may be mad at us but the Clintons will destroy the country" drumbeat.
Many of Hillary's positions and voting records do not make me happy, but when it comes to her marriage, that is between her and Bill.
I just celebrated my 8th wedding anniversary, and while I have never had to deal with betrayal and cheating, what works for them may not work for everyone.
Nobody ever really know what goes on between 2 people in a marriage, but at least you can say that she obviously takes her wedding vows far more seriously than Rudy ever has in terms of sticking it out no matter what and in terms of showing public fidelity.
And since the right adores Bush's steadfastness-- no matter what, one would think they would applaud Hillary's steadfastness when it comes to her man and her marriage, no?
Billary will be our next Presidents thanks to Bush totally destroying the credibility of the Republican Party. W did for the GOP what red ants did to the Maple Sugar and Honey- full body coating spa festival.

Tina, I wrote this post because I think that we as Democrats need to think of the political reality of their marriage. For me and you as Democrats it is a great thing and I am with you in supporting the Clintons strongly. That is great for the primary, but as I said I am worried about what impact the scandal memories of the 1990's will have on her chances to win the White House. Any other candidate is a fresh start, but with her we have to rehash all that stuff.
Kyle: I agree absolutely with HRC comes massive unfortunate baggage. But plenty of that baggage is unwarranted because it is absolutely no one else's business.
The same folks who can't pry enough into the Clinton marriage also profess to be uber-Christians, and the Bible is pretty crystal clear about the bonds of marriage and that outside interference by anyone other than God is verboten: (Matthew 19:6):
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Oh that's right... the Bible is only good for spewing supposed hatred and interolance, not backing up Hill and Bill's decision to remain married to each other, no matter what.
But for sure, if that massive baggage weren't there, people like the Big Greasy Mitt wouldn't get away with saying crap like this: "She hasn’t run anything, and the government of the United States is not a place for a president to be an intern."
Intern. Niiiice classy touch Romney.
And I think the last thing the United States needs is a greasy car salesmen-looking flip flopper who will say anything/claim to be anything to squeeze a vote outta someone.

I too view the Clintons marriage as soley between them and God...thus all the righties tossing stones are lowlife hypocrites.
BUT: there is also another view. Some view any woman who would put up with such an adulterous husband as a weak , low self esteem, woman. I dont - just saying...and like you say - its between them and God and the politicians be damned
Personally, I will vote for Hiil and Bill because I believe some flavor of healthcare reform will develop
