A Note to Hillary
We endorsed Obama over a year ago here at The Chief Source. It's been a long year and over the course of it we've seen some questionable attacks and tactics from all sides.We saw Hillary staffers make statements about Obama "the drug dealer." We heard her surrogates and husband with all their race baiting and "shuck and jive" slip ups. And the madrassa smears and the Obama-is-a-Muslim forwards. Most recently we had the mailers indicating that Obama does not think that all Americans "deserve" health care.
On the other hand we saw Obama use quotes improperly around the word "boon" when quoting a paper which was paraphrasing Hillary, not directly quoting her.
So no ones hands are completely clean.
But through all of this I have yet to see either cross the line which prompted me to say, unequivocally, "I will never vote for you." Well, that moment just happened as I read that Hillary's staff is not even trying to deny that they were circulating this photo entitled "Dressed Obama."
The image is from when Barack was visiting a rural region of Kenya where he wore local garb to show respect (like those odd shots of Bush in a Kimono). In fact, after the Obama camp called the circulation of the image "fear-mongering" the Hillary camp released a counter statement which said that the Obama campaign should be "ashamed" of itself for suggesting that a photo of traditional Somalian garb is somehow "divisive." No joke. That is their comeback... Obama shouldn't be so insensitive to Somali Elders!!!
OK, so after a year of restraint and just as I'm trying to be less abrasive I am going to say this, as nicely and calmly as I know how: Hillary, if you somehow manage to hang onto the nomination, you will not ever get my vote in the general election. I will vote, in good conscience, for John McCain.

OMG! Obama is a towel head! I will never vote for him. What a joke, is this what Hillary is trying to suggest. Seriously. You have to have an extra chromosome to believe this.
I think many echo your sentiments. The American public has grown wary of Clinton/Bush style politicians, and maybe Hillary's time was in 2000 or 2004.
She has waffled between respecting Obama and attacking him, and her campaign has lacked any sense of direction (perhaps because she never though they would be in this position).
At the same time, Obama just got a huge endorsement from: Louis Farrakahn. Hopefully he will distance himself from this race-baiting, jew-hating dinosaur.
Surprising no discussion on the Nader entry. We are all proud of your t-shirts, but I think Nader's entrance is more important.
Also, what will the Chief Source's stance be in 2050 when Mexicans in the southwest try to declare independence? When Chechnyans in Russia want independence? When the Basques in Spain want independence?
Did the Chief Source think it was wrong of Abraham Lincoln in trying to keep the Union together (I realize TCS was not around in 1861, but let's say it was)?
i don't read the drudge report and don't know generally how reliable it is.
if this turns out to be true, it is bad. but i will wait until this fleshes out. its sensational news nature makes me wary, for the moment.
if i am going to get worked up, i want to know if it is because clinton's camp did this or whether drudge report did it.
does anyone know? how reliable does drudge tend to be? the fact that it's in there, can we safely assume its veracity?

Don't be ridiculous. I bet you can't find one element of Nader's platform you disagree with. Why would you vote for John McCain?
The Clinton campaign is bipolar. One day Senator Clinton is lovey-dovey and proud to share the stage with Obama. The next week it is gutter politics.

I hear you. I didn't lose my top till I read the Clinton camp's released statement in which they did not deny that they had circulated the image with the caption:
"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?"
Instead they implied that Obama was somehow dissing Somalia. My jaw literally dropped.

ok, maybe i am being obtuse. but their response didn't seem so bad.
they didn't deny it, but then maybe it would be giving too much credit to the claim to do so. know what i mean?
it did mention that clinton has appeared in traditional garb, too, and was pictures were published.
on the other hand, clinton's camp has responded by putting the burden on obama's camp by claiming their reaction was the very thing they decry.
they made a claim that could equally be absurd. will obama's camp come out and deny they had anything to do with it?
or will they defend without denying. it will be interesting.

The mainstream press loves the constant magnification of nothing and the name calling. Isn't the election supposed to be about issues? We know they dont have interest in dealing with issues it doesnt pull ratings. we have to quit playing their game.

She is done. And on the way out she has decided to trash the clinton name. what a loser.
and for those that want to blame her staffers...that is the same passing the buck we have had to stomach with GW Bush for 8 years!
She is responsible for her staff, just like Bush is responsible for his cabinet. She has run a pathetic, and at times disgraceful, campaign. WHY IN THE HELL WOULD ANYONE WANT SOMEONE LIKE HER TO BE PRESIDENT????

Not only did Clinton just embarrass herself with the latest antics to trash Obama a week before the march 4th primary, but she has weakened the democratic party by going with republican style politics.. If Barack takes the nomination he will have all this hanging on his head, if she somehow wins then she will have a hard time convincing Americans that the "non-dirty" democrats should be in the White House, because we are the good guys.. What a disgrace. Anyone that supports her should feel ashamed. And I am with Robert.. if she wins the nomination i will now vote for McCain! I will also volunteer for his campaign.

I have no interest in joing with those that want a government whose function is to facilitate equal outcome.
I am a lifelong Dem. I lost all respect for Clinton when Bill starting talking about Jesse Jackson before the SC primary. This latest stunt has put me way over the edge. I will proudly vote for Obama. If Clinton somehow steals the nomination, I will just as proudly vote for McCain. Shame on you Hillary.
