Spring Break

It's no secret that stories such as the one headlining newspapers in the past few days regarding HRC's fib about the "sniper fire" she and her entourage -including new foreign policy expert Sinbad - were under when in Bosnia in 1996, are generally beneficial to Obama. Obama supporters such as myself, generally get a chuckle out of these gaffes. However, after the endless back and forth, including unwarranted name calling from both sides these past two weeks, I am truly sick of the negativity. Both campaigns, and most importantly, the democratic party, would benefit from a break from these negative stories. I suggest that both candidates take a week off. Take a vacation or just go home. Watch the Sweet 16. Get a massage. Have dinner with the fam. Golf. Walk. Whatever! The PA primary is still 3 weeks away. Plenty of time. My hope, although unrealistic, is that both candidates could stay out of the headlines during this time. If so, perhaps democrats can focus on issues on which we basically agree- the war, taxes, healthcare reform, etc.

Obama has been on Spring Break.
I knew after the last primary that is was going to be a looooong time till PA...
didn't bob talk about this months ago?
Sophie, amen. I wish they would take a break for a bit. We all need it. Chairman Dean needs to step up and help mediate a little bit. We need some leadership here.
In a related note, John Edwards needs to endorse. It is just absurd that he hasn't. I'd prefer him to endorse Obama, but he should do something soon.
kyle
if he is going to endorse, he will probably wait until around the NC primary. If he has any influence in his home state, which I am skeptical of, he will wait to try and maximize it.
What changes as these endorsements trickle in?
Not much.
Are there undecideds out there actually waiting for Edwards to endorse?
Love the picture. It warms my heart to see all those young dedicated souls doing their part to make a better world. Who could possibly question the attacks the youth make on American society and its ills after watching them in action on spring break.
Yeah, look at all that potential cannon fodder going to waste. You kids want a hot sun and lots of sand? Try
Basra. I hear the Army is offering an endless spring break package complete with lodging and meal program. They might even give you some tuition money.
Just make sure you read the small print.
Good one Menck.
I dont know how anyone, especially the young, can take this doggie/pony show election seriously. God only knows what will shake out.
Going to Iraq - NOW THATS SERIOUS!
Sidenote: Frontline "Bush's War" is an incredible expose. After watching it, I have about as much faith in our Govt on foreign affairs as I do in Tom Cruise as POPE. AND, the program makes the Project for the New American Century look like circus clowns.
I remember one spring break - long time ago - laying on Clearwater beach w/my brother and peering up thru bloodshot eyes at female legs and appurtances.
I had second degree sunburn and a hangover from hell.
Oh how youth is wasted on the young!
Petey,
Amen on the wasted statement. I realized the other day I never did make it to one spring break stavaganza. A great week of out of mind experinces missed.
Thanks Fred, Hey dont get me wrong - I am enjoying slipping into my senior years - But still would pay good $$$$$$ for one night at the Mentor Drive In (1968) with Antoinette and some of her favorite -Strohs beer.
Fred, get some mirror/sunglasses and take the better half to the beach for spring break - Hey Why Not?
(Her other "favorites" are personal memories)
