As I looked at this series, I thought about what she was saying to the little boy seated to her left before she paused to take a drag.

"Donnie, I told you, no funnel cake until you finish your lemonade."

Or something like that.

better comment:

SMOKING SUCKS

I have developed such an attitude toward smoking and smokers. Like, I am supposed to trust or do business with someone who does NOT care about his health????

My wife is disabled from emphysema

SMOKING SUCKS

& I have inhaled enough second hand smoke that I won't be surprised if some day that takes me out

That's a pretty absurd comment, Petey.

I don't know if any or you have seen the movie Thank You For Smoking, but I highly recommend it. It is a political comedy about the lobbying industry and, if my memory serves me correct, there isn't one cigarette smoked in the movie.

oh man. I thought that was a man. haha. Maybe that's what happens when you smoke long enough, you get mistaken for the opposite sex.

Smoke free since October 10, 1985.

I quit by signing up for a two week Outward Bound course in the Mojave Desert. Knew I'd die unless I quit
and got in shape before the course. No cigarettes allowed anyway. It worked.

Petey,

Like you, I don't have any good feelings about smoking, and I am a former smoker. Just saying that you wouldn't trust anyone who smokes is a bit much. It's not much different than people with poor diets, alcoholics, etc. I mean, would you do business with an obese person?

C'mon now, its a LOT different than a poor diet or doing business with an obese person.

It is suicide on an installment plan (as has been said)

I view a smoker as someone who is committing suicide
and feel that I should stay away

Alcoholism? Lets not open that can

Here is to Russ and Mencken and all others who CHOOSE not to inflict damage upon themself or family

Suffice to say that I Have extensive experiences with addictive substance abuse (Cigs, Booze...), have witnessed the carnage / lost loved ones and do not care to experience any more of it

Mencken, One night I was driving home, sucking on a KOOL (2.5+- packs a day), had a smoking cough jag and nearly passed out. Stopped at the local restaurant and tossed what was left of my carton of KOOLs that I kept in the car in a dumpster

As they say "Good riddance to bad rubbish"
