Fairlawn Wedding

My friends Jeff and Sarah got married at Fairlawn Country Club this past Saturday. It may be cliche to say a wedding was perfect, but this one was. Weather, food, location, live music, and most importantly the people in the room made for a great time. I was really happy for Jeff and Sarah.
I managed to snag an aisle seat for the ceremony to snap a few pictures. I was worried about the sun being too bright, but I trusted the histogram and it delivered. The occasional cloud provided the perfect amount of light on the wedding party. I talked briefly with the two photographers who were working the wedding. They had a Canon 5D with a 16-35mm and Nikon D300 with a 50mm. The lady with the Nikon also had one of those Gary Fong flash modifiers. She said it is one of the best photography purchases she has made and rarely shoots a wedding without it.

Great job Kyle. You may have found your true calling.
Regarding Fong's flash modifiers, I would think twice about paying $60 for a piece of Tupperware to put on my flash. About 2/3 of the light goes where you don't need it, and for all intents and purposes, a 3x5 index card and a rubber band will work about as well.
You're buying a little convenience but not much more.
Thanks. Like most events, I wish I would have taken more photos.
I like all the different activities and expressions going on behind Sarah in the first photo--it's a completely different story than the lovers center stage.
Greg, that is why I liked this photo too. Melissa's head is in the lower left because she is straightening the brides dress. The bride Sarah seems completely oblivious to everything because she's so happy to be standing there looking at Jeff. It is a cool moment.
I guess this explains why jeff did so poorly this year in fantasy baseball!
