Last weekend, Brian and I went camping with some of our good friends in the Hocking Hills. It was a chance to get out of town and enjoy some of the fall foliage in the southeastern part of our state. Unbeknown to us, we had a site reserved at a very poorly maintained campground. The ruts in the drive from truck tires and the rain were deceptively deep and one of our vehicles was marooned in the mud.
Short video. We spent about two hours trying to get it free only to have to call AAA to come pull it out the next morning. I'm posting this a bit later in the week than I had planned because I have been laid up the past couple days with a pretty nasty cold.

The Saipan Times and the National Park Service- Saipan has asked for photos to be published by them.
Interested in photographing it?
The pictures, the camping, and the drama of a stranded car in heavy mud are all spectacular. Fantastic!
Would that I could Petey.
I am finalizing the plan for 1PM Sat Oct 31 at Dontinos in Akron.
A few good photos were reqested by sme folks on Tinian and Saipan --these would end up on the National Park Memorial of the Pacific website and most likely in the Saipan Tribune.
If you could take them, I would make sure that you recd credit for them, wherever they end up.
I know you are a pro, would we need to compensate? How about a classic Italian meal?
As nice as the photo is, it doesn't capture the desperation of shoveling water with a cup or trying to get a jack to raise a car on mud and starter wood.
Nonetheless, it was a blast, especially knowing that Stabb's car made it out unharmed. You were missed Saturday.
