Laughing Gnome

The thing I like best about David Bowie is that his albums mix songs that are some of my all time favorites (Queen Bitch) with others that are just ridiculous. When I was 18, I ordered a Bowie compilation CD called the DERAM Anthology from BMG. My friends and I were just starting to get into Bowie and I though getting some of his early stuff would be interesting. I remember listening to the CD for the first time, laughing more with each track, and immediately calling Tim. We must have played it 1,000 times in the Milo basement. I think we found it funny that this rock icon had made this nonsense and that a record label put it out. Tim, this post is for you.
Lately, I've been trying to compose shots my wide angle lens at 10mm without having to make lens corrections in photoshop. This gnome sits near my porch.

Bowie found a wave he could surf and had just enough talent and smarts to make the best of his abilities.
Bowie once said, " Frankly, I mean, sometimes the interpretations I've seen on some of the songs that I've written are a lot more interesting than the input that I put in."
Queen Bitch is definitely a jam I could listen to over and over.
I wasn't sure about the gnome song until I played it. I had a lightning flash back of you guys playing it down the basement. I don't think I ever took interest--now I know why.
Unbelievable. It's been a while.
Do you still have this CD - I'd love to hear "Sell Me a Coat" and "Little Bombardier" - not to mention "Grave Digger" and "Love Me Till Tuesday" - pretty much the whole compilation is amazing.
I'd recommend it to anyone who likes ironic music or who has a lust for LSD
Remember when Bowie was on the "Androgyny" bandwagon. I dont think that would fly well today....& not at all during the Bush administration.
His eye was damaged in a fight over a girl when his opponent bounced his class ring off his eyeball.
Cool act on the Bing Crosby Christmas show.
Heard Bowie in an interview a while back ---very interesting and cool--regular-type guy-- whose real name is David Jones.
Seems that there is a lot of good classic rock on lately
Here is a headsup on a Seattle Classic Rock (internet) station
