Meeting of the Minds

I know what you're thinking, "Wow, what a good looking group of guys!!" This was definitely the best breakfast I've had in a while - just relaxing with the three best dudes that I know. Ever get the feeling that your on the same wavelength as the other people around you without having to say a word?
Clockwise starting with blue hat guy:
Tim, Tim, Tim, and Tim
I've wanted to do a shot like this for a while but it takes some patients that I don't always have. I was finally inspired to attempt it though after looking through the photography of Natalie Dybisz. She uses some pretty cool Photoshop techniques - check her out if you're into that sort of thing.

For some reason(for the last two days) I can't comment on Blogger using Firefox or Chrome - I have to use Internet Explorer. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've wanted to do something similiar, but on playground equipment. I think there are a lot of possibilites there.
More wardrobe changes than Cher.
I should've worn your favorite green sweater.
How'd you do it?
that is a pretty cool photo. How long did it take you to get it all setup and actually shoot it?
ps. this comment comes from chrome.
i bet there were some brilliant conversations, since you're such a bright guy. too bad one of you wasn't jumping. where do you find all the time for this stuff with you're busy schedule?
Kari, you have the personality of a cold sore. Do your parents know what you're doing down in the basement hour after hour ?
Why don't you and Simmons get together, compare notes and see if either one of you have ever had an original thought in your life.
I find it remarkable that Tim's e-stalker tries to rip on him about free time.
Mencken,
Simmons/Kari and Anon don't have to get together - they are all the same person. They're kind of like this photo - a simple illusion.
Anyways - I did this with masking layers and a tripod. I took five shots(one without me and the 4 me's) and then just overlayed all the photos and painted the 4 me's into the scene. It was mostly easier than I thought it would be. There were a few spots that I found a little tricky(took a steady hand).
I used three speedlites in this - trying to get even coverage all around so there wouldn't be weird differing shadows. One is behind the blue hat me with a shoot through umbrella. One is to the left bouncing off the ceiling and one is to the right bouncing off the wall. All in all I think i spent about an hour and a half on this.
Any tips on how to make it look so seamless?

Hey Boy Genius, it should be "you're"....short for you are...
And Simmons...."where do you find all the time for this stuff with you're busy schedule?:
YOUR not YOU'RE!!!!!!
Woops anon., I'm usually pretty good about that - sorry.
yer ir ur
Kyle,
It actually wasn't that hard to get most of this seemless because there isn't to much overlap between the "me's". The only tricky parts were where I have the Minolta in my hands and where the newspaper is. I just had to go back in forth with the brush until I got it right.
So I guess the tip would be try not to have your subjects on overlapping.
